ADULT CONTENT WARNING: 18+ ONLY.

I was gifted this book in exchange for an honest Review.  Let me just start out by saying Vaughn is one Hot Sexy arrogant piece of meat.  OMG!!  This book did not waste any time getting right into the action.  Vaughn is a paid Seducer of Women.  No woman can resist his charms, he is bold, confident, demanding, cocky and simply put, feels all women look the same on their knees.  Keely is a paralegal that is stuck working for a jerk of a Lawyer because she is trying to save the money to finish her Law Degree.  Her Boss is too preoccupied with interoffice affairs to handle his own clients, and instead demands Keely take care of most of his day to day task.  When Keely is sent to get her boss some Juice from a certain Juice Bar she meets this beautiful stranger that she immediately becomes attracted to, and can’t take her eyes off of him.   But this stranger has a secret, he intends to seduce Keely, she is clueless to his intentions, and completely infatuated by him and can’t seem to get him off her mind, yet does her best to resist him.  What follows in the days to come as Vaughn continues to find ways to tempt Keely and eventually, hopefully seduce her, is plenty of intrigue and mystery.  I was totally engrossed in this novel about this arrogant man and I couldn’t figure out why I was either, he was such a jerk, but drop dead gorgeous too I imagine, so he could get away with his brazen behavior and bold talk to Keely.  Will Vaughn succeed and seduce her? Why is his targeting her? And what is this business with her client Ashcroft?  There is definitely a Cliffhanger in the book, one that had me wanting to throw my Kindle across the room, but I resisted and will just have to wait for the next book that I hear is coming very soon.   I give this Book 5 out of 5 stars completely for the Hotness that is Vaughn.

My Review
4.0 Star Review  -  Just Between Us
Hayley Oakes

I recommend this Book.

I was gifted this book and in return I write an honest review.  Just Between Us by Hayley Oakes is a story about I guess you would say Forbidden Love.   So let’s start off in the beginning, Sophie is for the most part your average teenage girl, she isn’t part of the most popular crowd, but not a loner either, Sophie is a well-rounded young woman that pretty much has her head on straight.  She doesn’t realize however how beautiful she is, she seems pretty naïve to how attracted most guys are to her, so we could say she has low self-esteem.  In comes Kyle who seems very confident and has every one just following him around, including girls.  Kyle doesn’t have to make an effort, they just come to him.  Both Sophie and Kyle have parents that are divorced and once they start dating each other, Sophie does her best to just steer clear of Kyle, as they both hate each other, or at least that is what Sophie thinks.  She doesn’t like Kyle due to his arrogance and cocky attitude.  Eventually Sophie and Kyle’s parents are married and end up living in a home where Kyle and Sophie have to share a Bathroom.  Sophie does her best to avoid all contact with Kyle and Kyle just seems to resent everything about his Dad.
Until there is a family vacation and things happen between these two and they share a kiss.  Sophie is not able to resist Kyle after that, even though she still thinks she hates him, her body wants him.  Kyle never thought he would feel this way about her and can’t seem to stay from Sophie either.  They embark on a secret attraction and meet each other as often as possible, usually in their shared bathroom which only makes this book more fun to read to me.  It made me wonder what would I think if I was in the same situation.  I mean they are step brother and sister, but it’s not like they grew up together in the same household, so I don’t think this is so terrible.  Sophie however is very concerned about how this looks to people and struggles with her feelings of shame about Kyle, and doesn’t want anyone to know, so they agree to be secret boyfriend and girlfriend.  I don’t want to give away anymore spoilers then I already have, but I will say that I enjoyed this book, I like how the story went back and forth between the past and the present, I liked how the story was told from both POV’s.  What I didn’t like however is how frustrating Sophie was at times, she just couldn’t make up her mind and I was annoyed with how much she hurt Kyle, going back and forth.  I was happy with the ending, but I wish we could have had more time to enjoy their happiness in this story.   I don't want to elaborate too much on my reasons because I hate spoilers, but that is basically the reason why I am only giving this book 4 stars out of 5.  I loved reading this book and I think it was well written and will recommend this book to my friends who want to read a different book.  I look forward to reading more of Hayley Oakes books.

Beautiful Zach

Time to Share,

YOU SHOULD NEVER JUDGE A BOOK BY ITS COVER!!

To those that may not know this, I lost my Beautiful Nephew to Suicide in July of 2012. But he was not just my nephew, I was 10 years old when he was born, I remember every min
ute of my Sister's labor and the experience of waiting on his birth, I watched this baby, this nephew, the little brother I always wanted grow up to be the man he was, the man I was very proud to call my nephew Zach. In fact the redhead in my Facebook Cover picture is who I am referring to, I made this collage from all the pictures I collected after he took his own life. This was not the first time he tried either, the first time he was 17 years old and I got the call in the middle of the night to come get him from the hospital because he had slit his wrist, thank GOD he came to his senses and called for help. This nephew of mine was what I referred to as a Tortured Soul, he had many bad experiences in he life and one of the most tragic was with me. We shared this nightmare our entire lives, unfortunately it affected him alot worse than it did me. I was older (16) Zach was only 6 and he didn't get the proper care a little boy should have gotten after witnessing what he did. He became a drug abuser, a criminal, he was in and out of prison for most of his teen and adult life. But through it all he had the biggest heart and just wanted to find love with someone. This only really happened for him once in is life (LOVE) and a month after his 40th birthday he took a look at his life and how little he had and decided to end it, we don't know all the facts because he didn't leave a note, but we know he was very drunk when he decided to shot himself. I know that my niece will forever be tortured with the memory of finding him. So when I say I have experienced losing a loved one to Suicide, I mean sooo much more than just losing him. I was there when the coroners office came and carried him out of his apartment, I was there when the detectives questioned us about why or where he got this gun. I was there to help clean up his apartment and decide how to divide up his property. I was there to plan his funeral and help pay for it because his Mother was on the other side of the world and couldn't be there. I will never forget the feeling I experienced when my other Sister called me at work to tell me what had happened, and how I broke down in a conference room while my co-workers could hear me crying thru the walls. I was there when we had to tell his Mother and Father what he did, I was there when I had to step up for my Son,, his best friend and plan this for him, because my Son couldn't cope with this tragedy. I was there to watch my niece who is like a little sister to me suffer, because she couldn't sleep, every time she closed her eyes, she saw the man she protected and watched over all her life, laying in his own blood. As I write this I am surrounded by memories of him, his urn is across the room from me, his screenplay he was writing is in a box on the floor not 3 feet away from me. I plan to sort it out and hopefully get it into book form to honor him and his memory one day. Every light switch and outlet in my house he replaced, and the countless other projects he helped me with when I bought my fixer upper of a home.
Zach

I write this mainly because I wanted to share something that happened to me 3 months ago. You see I got a message on my facebook page from a Author that had published his own book and he didn't know how to promote this book so he was just going blog to blog trying to get people to read his book. Now knowing what I have just told you, you can only imagine what I must have thought when I saw what the title to this book was.

The Coolest Way to Kill Yourself by Nicholas Tanek. I'm not tagging him on purpose, because I am not doing this to promote his book per say, but to show some people out there that may not understand this title, or who may be offended by it, that if I can get past it and read it and Love it!! I think they need to try and understand his reasons and not be so quick to judge or hate. I admit I did judge, but once I took a closer look I found that I made the best decision in reading this book because it has changed my life in ways I cannot describe.

This Author engaged me in a way that I couldn't turn him away, so I read the synopsis and I became very curious about this book, you see, what I learned after reading this book was that 'The Coolest Way to Kill Yourself' is a metaphor, no one actually kills them selves in this book. The title was not meant to be Inconsiderate to those that have lost loved ones to Suicide, It was a term that the main character in his book would often use when she was referring to their relationship, their kind of LOVE, It was the coolest way to kill yourself, to love, to experience what they had together. What I discovered about myself and about this book, this Author who I now call a very dear friend, I hope for life, is that he wrote this book about his life, about his journey from a selfish teenager to a very indulgent adult. This book about Music, depression, drug abuse, and ultimately getting a second chance at love and experiencing the most open and honest, without shame, love with a woman that understood him and all his Kinky ways. As I read about his many struggles in life and how he dealt with them and how he overcame them. It made me look at my own life and how I handled many of the same experiences, although not to the same extreme that Nicholas did. This book is by far the best book I have read since I started reading again a couple of years ago. It's not for everyone, I am sure there are some that won't agree with me, but I tell you the ones I have recommended to read this book, love it and I would love it, if they would comment or like this post to testify to that. And so I say to those that may Judge or are offended by the title, I know for a fact that it was never the intent of the Author to do that, he was only speaking from his heart and that was or is the Truth. A Creative man wrote a book about true events and due to the nature of his Book, there could be no other title. It is what it is... Nicholas Tanek is the Coolest Guy and I Love his Soul.

The Coolest Way

Okay, so no one actually kills themselves in this book.

The Coolest Way to Kill Yourself pulls you into the early 90's New York City rave scene, in all its chaotic, psychedelic glory. The narrator grabs you by your wrist and drags you behind two teenage lovers from New Jersey as they tumble through a whirlwind of reckless hedonism that eventually spirals into a dark, devastating world of drug addiction and heartbreak. As a teenager, Lynn cried, "No one is ever going to write something for me."

Nearly two decades later, in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy, Nicholas did just that. The gesture came too late for our unlikely heroine, but his heart was in the right place. A broken heart... but a true love. Reunited after years apart, Lynn and Nicholas embraced their love and sexuality, and embraced each other, despite troubled pasts, despite illness, despite all of their imperfections and mistakes. They shared the kind of honest and shameless connection that few have had the honor of knowing, and most would never understand.

"We're not hurting anyone. We're just living life without caring what anyone thinks about us."

"It's the coolest way to kill ourselves," Lynn said.

So turn the page, and pull the trigger.

NOTE FROM THE AUTHOR:
I think that you will find my book very interesting. It is a very unconventional romance. The love of my life died at the age of 37. She passed away a little before Hurricane Sandy. With a generator to keep my laptop working, I wrote a book for the woman who thought no one would ever write something for her.

Nicholas Tanek is an American ghostwriter from New Brunswick, New Jersey. He graduated from Rutgers University with a Bachelors in English. He has been a ghostwriter for over 15 years.
